The journal "Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery" has published the results of a joint study by Professor A.S. Ryazanov and staff members of the A.N. Bakulev Center for Cardiovascular Surgery titled "Cardiorespiratory Function and Contractile Reserve in COVID-19 Convalescents with Mitral Regurgitation." This single-center retrospective study conducted from 2019 to 2024 focused on examining the effects of COVID-19 on cardiorespiratory function and cardiac contractile reserve in patients with mitral valve insufficiency during the convalescence period. The research resulted in a comprehensive assessment of the cardiorespiratory system, allowing for the identification of severe mitral regurgitation to determine timely optimal treatment strategies for COVID-19 convalescents.
