Professor Ryazanov presents a report on cardiovascular wellness and active longevity

At the solemn opening of the II International Congress "The Path to Healthy Longevity. Preservation of Human Potential" held in Moscow on 6 November 2025, Professor Alexey Sergeevich Ryazanov presented a report titled "Cardiovascular Wellness as One of the Key Aspects in the Fight for Active Longevity."

In his address, Professor Ryazanov emphasized the relevance and urgency of this topic. Healthy longevity is perceived not merely as one of the tasks of modern medicine, but as a goal of the national health policy of the state. Cardiovascular wellness is a theme without which it is impossible to fully discuss longevity, quality of life, or the preservation of human cognitive potential.

Modern cardiology has ceased to be a narrow discipline concerned solely with heart problems. It has transformed into a science of quality of life, functional youth, and quality longevity. The cardiovascular system determines how actively, energetically, and meaningfully a person lives after 60, 70, and 80 years of age.

Current research demonstrates that a healthy heart is not simply the absence of disease, but a state of adaptive equilibrium between the heart, blood vessels, brain, and metabolism. This dynamic interplay serves as the biological foundation of active longevity. Modern cardiology encompasses not only the prevention of heart attacks and strokes, but also the maintenance of healthy blood vessels, youthful endothelium, and a clear mind.
